About the Event

NAMI's Ending the Silence for Staff is a free 1 hour and 15 minute presentation designed to educate and support school teachers and staff. With 1 in 5 youth experiencing a mental health condition, it is likely teachers will encounter students who may be showing signs of mental health conditions or who are currently diagnosed. Staff will learn:

The warning signs of mental health conditions

Facts and statistics

Ideas for working with students

Ideas for working with families

Resources

A trained facilitator (family member of a loved one with a mental health condition) will provide the presentation and guide discussion on how to support and work with both students and families effectively. The recovery speaker will also share their story, to provide deeper insight to a lived experience.
